World Mental Health Day 2026: Every voice matters

Hub connections event 2026

Mental health is an important part of our overall wellbeing. Just like looking after our physical health, taking the time to care for our mental health helps us manage life's ups and downs, build resilience and maintain healthy relationships.

This year, World Mental Health Day falls on Saturday October 10 with the theme this year being ‘Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change’ which highlights the importance of listening to, and learning from, those of us who have experienced mental health challenges firsthand.

By listening without judgement, encouraging open conversations and creating supportive environments this can help reduce the stigmas towards mental health and make it easier for people to seek support when they need it.

The small changes we make such as staying connected with friends and family, getting active, spending time outdoors, taking breaks from busy schedules and talking about how you're feeling can all support a healthier mind.

To recognise World Mental Health Day, CBPlus and Barnet Wellbeing,  as well as many other local services are hosting a free community event at the Meritage Centre, NW4 4JT on Tuesday 6 October and gives you the opportunity to be heard, to listen and walk away a little lighter. This World Mental Health Day, take that moment to check in with yourself and those around you. Whether you're sharing your own experiences or simply taking time to listen, every conversation can help create positive change.
