Supporting children to find their place
The theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week, which begins today (9 February 2026), is ‘this is my place’.
This means supporting and strengthening the groups and systems around children and young people to help everyone feel like they belong.
It is an opportunity to encourage peers, families, schools and communities to create inclusive and nurturing environments, where children and young people feel empowered to contribute to the world and can make a positive difference.
Children’s Mental Health Week, organised by charity Place2Be, is an annual awareness event for which giving a voice to children and young people in the UK is the main aim.
Launched in 2015, the event is an ideal time to have vital discussions with children and for them to take part in thought-provoking class activities.
Free resources, including assemblies, activities and tips, are available on the Children’s Mental Health Week website.
