Silver Sunday returns to Barnet this October
Age UK Barnet's Silver Sunday returns on Sunday 4 October 2026 at Middlesex University, Hendon, bringing our older residents together for a free day of activities, entertainment and advice.
Last year's event welcomed more than 800 people, making it the largest Silver Sunday celebration in the country and organisers are aiming for another successful event this year. There will be more live music, dance performances, health checks, workshops, information stands and an always popular disco. New for 2026 is an energetic merengue session.
Visitors can also enjoy talks from leading experts, including neuroscientist Professor Catherine Loveday on memory and ageing, and Dr Wakana Teranaka from Barnet Hospital sharing practical tips for healthy ageing. Additional sessions will cover topics such as avoiding scams and getting the most from local pharmacy services.
Helen Newman, Chief Executive of Age UK Barnet, said: "Silver Sunday is a joyful reminder that older people are at the heart of our communities. It's about meeting people, trying something new and feeling valued."
