National Walking Month this May!

May is #NationalWalkingMonth – so is the perfect time to put on your trainers and explore Barnet on foot. From leafy parks to historic routes, there are plenty of heritage and active walks across the borough to suit all ages and abilities. Whether it’s a gentle stroll discovering local landmarks or a more energetic route to get your heart rate up, there’s something for everyone.

Walking is one of the simplest ways to look after your health, and even a short walk each day can boost physical fitness, support heart health, improve mood and reduce stress. It’s also a great way to enjoy some fresh air, clear your head and feel more connected to where you live.

The Fit and Active Barnet (FAB) Hub is a great place to start. It brings together information on local walking opportunities, activities and support to help you stay active in a way that works for you. New joiners also get their first Health Walk for free in May!

So why not make walking part of your routine this month? Invite a friend, explore a new route and see Barnet from a fresh perspective, one step at a time.
