End-of-life advice and support
The North Central London Palliative Advice Team provides overnight advice and support for patients, aged 18 and over, who are receiving end-of-life care in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington.
The expert team is available to patients, their carers including friends and families, and to healthcare professionals.
The team is available on 020 8343 6812 from 8pm to 8am, seven days a week.
This means that vital care to improve the quality of life of people experiencing a life-limiting illness, and support for families and carers, is available 24/7.
The overnight service is run by North London Hospice staff members, who offer expert advice to reassure callers at what can be a very difficult and distressing time. They also arrange practical support with pain relief, equipment, and supplies, and liaise with different healthcare professionals to make sure patients get all the care they need.
When required, patients can be admitted to the hospice, seamlessly avoiding unnecessary trips to A&E and making sure their care is joined up.
