Your travel to and from appointments will not be funded. If you have mobility needs or are disabled, then you can request NHS transport to hospital appointments. Primary care services should be local enough to reach without transport. If you have concerns reaching your appointment please speak to the reception.
You must also inform the NHSBSA about your change of address to continue getting free prescriptions on your HC2 certificate until it expires.
If you receive Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or Income-related Employment and Support Allowance in Universal Credit, you will still receive free prescriptions automatically. If you are under 16, aged 16-18 in full time education or over 60, you will automatically be entitled to free prescriptions.
If you are pregnant or have had a baby in the last year, you can get a maternity exemption certificate which entitles you to free prescriptions. You can ask your midwife, doctor or health visitor for the certificate and they will complete it for you.
If you have certain medical conditions you can access free prescriptions through a medical exemption certificate. You can apply for this by asking your GP or another doctor for a form.
If you are on low income you can apply for a HC2 certificate that offers you free prescriptions and help with dental and eye care.
